The Daily Training

Reportage 3

Usually we do have training from 08:00 to 10:00. It starts with a longer series of stretching. The main attention is set to the area of the waist and legs. The so called « Mabu » (horse – step or something like that) is for all subjects like Taiji, Kung Fu and so on very important. This is due to the fact that it gives a correct energy flow and the correct stability. After round about a quarter hour of stretching different kicks and punches will follow. Also push ups are not to be missed. Mostly they ask for 30. And because it has been so nice further stretching is going to be added afterwards. Sometimes, during afternoon training that takes place from 15:00 to 17:00, as well as during the evening training from 19:30 to 20:30, also different Qi Gong excercises are practiced. – I admit, I prefer this part to the first one….

As there are usually less participants during the evening, we also do partner excercises. This includes kicks and punches at the partner who is protected accordingly.

After in the morning respectively the afternoon one hour has passed, at the evening this is round about half and hour, the individual training will start. In my case this is now « Ba Ji Quan ». Especially with this excercice it can be noted that I will have to get trained this « Mabu » much more than that.

For all interim there are pauses. Eating is from 07:00 to 07:30, 11:00 to 11:30 and 18:30 to 19:00.

Now I am curious about to know how training will look like from 01.09 for the next two weeks with master Chen. I have heard a lot about that in the meanwhile however it will be better to make my own oppinion about that. From this date on the time will slightly be modified. However this will not have an influence on the quantity of the training parts. The only influence is that I will have to stop my Ba Ji Quan training for a limited time. Since I do have a new trainer since yesterday afternoon, completely by chance, I do great progress. – Once again one of those things that suprise me during my journey. That is: I silently had the hope getting another trainer even though I liked this one. And suddenly it happened that I was told on Sunday without that I have had to do anything, that this guy is going to be on vacation on Monday and therefore would be replaced by someone else. And voila! My little problem of non – progress is solved! And with the new one I even get along better as with the first one especially as he knows some english and shows me the martial arts applications of my form. Just to have noticed that: he is a former shaolin fighter….
