The First Days

Reportage 2

From Tuesday morning on slowly but steadily my timetable got fixed. This meant as well that I started slightly later than the others. Not so bad at first. We discussed different things. And it started with a series of stretching – methods, kicks, body – coordination and punches. As we do have roudn about 35°C at 92% humidity (in the night we have 28°C at same humidity) at an altitude of 1200 meters, I notice that from body point of view very quickly: The T-Shirt is immediately sweated through and in general the rest too. – Even from my balted head the swet shoots out like it would be a romain fountain…

For dinner I almost cannot swallow anything as in any way I am blocked and the food is quite oily and salty here (it lasted for 2 days and then, after a chinese beer, the reverse has show up quite quickly…). And my body does not really want to coordinate the sportive effort plus the effort required to eat something….

The training itself by the way is from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00. It sounds like not being long, and it is not indeed, however it is very much mega – intensive. At least my coach is really nice and patient. A pitty that he almost does not speak or understand english. Advantage: My chinese becomes better!

Since Wednesday morning on top to the above described the so called « Ba Ji Quan » was added. – Just check through youtube or similar and have a look and marvel at it…. it is a quite explosive form of Taiji. Originally it has been told to me that I ain’t be possible getting this form done within 5 days. As i felt myself observed during one of the breaks I performed my own Taiji. Andit could be said it has had its effect. Because suddenly they teach me the Ba Ji Quan. – Great! No I got my challenge!

However I have to admit that after only one hour of Ba Ji Quan I am even more done than before. But any way: I am lucky!

As Wednesday afternoon until Thursday included is an off time, I go with a young canadian guy to town – ok, village from chinese point of view…. There we meet by chance with a chinese friend of mine, some friends of her and we continue our way together for temple watching, getting a coffee, doing nothing. Going to meet again on Thursday for shopping on the market and cooking together.

Thursday morning I do my training on my own. it is quite nice and the young canadian joins me. I do different kinds of Qi Gong and Taiji by looking to a little bamboo grove. From there some birds were coming and watching me doing my excercices and chirp a song. Also a huge buttefly passes by and circulates around me. – A real feeling of happiness! Just the green bamboo, the birds, the butterfly, the calm…. – Marvelous, I thank this Moment!
